It took place on December 12, 2014 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event featured the finals of the Women's Strawweight tournament between finalists Carla Esparza and Rose Namajunas, which crowned the inaugural UFC Women's Strawweight champion.
