Matt Rainnie is the co-host of Island Morning, the popular morning show on Prince Edward Island. After graduating with an Honor's Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of King's College in 1993, Matt started his career with CBC-Prince Edward Island. He started as a television reporter and video-journalist before finding his home in radio. For a number of years, Matt co-hosted the GOLD CUP PARADE and the EASTER SEALS TELETHON on CBC Television-Prince Edward Island. As well, he has hosted many CBC-sponsored community events including the PEI Music Awards and West Prince Reading Festival. In 2005 and 2006, he also hosted and co-produced a new network radio show, LOST AND FOUND. Matt's interests include writing and acting and he has written several screenplays, two of which have been optioned by a Vancouver production company. He was a cast-member of the popular sketch comedy "Annekenstein" and was a founding member of the improv troupe "4-Play". Recently, Matt wrote and performed in a new comedy show, "Sketch-22" which played to sold-out crowds in Charlottetown. As an actor, Matt has been featured on CBC Radio's BASIC BLACK and MADLY OFF IN ALL DIRECTIONS, and also on CBC Television's ON THE ROAD AGAIN and EMILY OF NEW MOON. Matt is an avid film fan and reviews movies weekly for CBC Radio's ISLAND MORNING. He lives in Charlottetown with his wife and three children.
