He's known for his collaborations with David Lynch, who directed MacLachlan's screen debut in Dune and the Twin Peaks film prequel, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. MacLachlan won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks.
